[opensuse-factory] Tumbleweed - preload-kmp-de* i586 require=2.6.39.1-33 but only updated kernel 2.6.39.2-34.1 available
Kernel's been updated, but the preload-kmp packages for i586 don't seem to be (x86_64 looks OK) which causes zypper dup to "confusingly" want to downgrade to 11.4 with vendor change as 2.6.39.1-33 kernels are no longer present. x86_64 - As expected kernel-default-2.6.39.2-34.1.x86_64.rpm 28-Jun-2011 20:58 36M kernel-desktop-2.6.39.2-34.1.x86_64.rpm 28-Jun-2011 20:03 37M preload-kmp-default-1.2_k2.6.39.2_34-67.29.x86_64.rpm 28-Jun-2011 21:27 39K preload-kmp-desktop-1.2_k2.6.39.2_34-67.29.x86_64.rpm 28-Jun-2011 21:27 40K i586 - Not kernel-default-2.6.39.2-34.1.i586.rpm 28-Jun-2011 20:46 35M kernel-desktop-2.6.39.2-34.1.i586.rpm 28-Jun-2011 19:42 36M preload-kmp-default-1.2_k2.6.39.1_33-67.28.i586.rpm 27-Jun-2011 19:49 40K preload-kmp-desktop-1.2_k2.6.39.1_33-67.28.i586.rpm 27-Jun-2011 19:49 40K I presume this is just a slip & the preload-kmp's on i586 fell into the bit bucket. I presume this is just a slip & the preload-kmp's on i586 fell into the bit bucket.
Yeah, preload-kmp failed to build again due to a broken build system server, I've kicked it again now and hopefully it will complete this time. thanks for letting me know. greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Thank you! Boots and runs fine, but alot of messages are appearing on console with the new desktop kernel & preload : FIBMAP: Invalid argument Found this has been discussed already in June, 2010 - http://old.nabble.com/linux-login%3A-FIBMAP%3A-Invalid-argument-td29040908.h... Presumably it's recurred just now for some reason, rather than being on every boot to console since where preload was installed? Rob I got the same error here. It came from Desktop and Default. It was about 50 to 100 lines of repeated "FIBMAP: Invalid argument".
