can anyone tell me where the setting for font size is for the login screen using KDM? More than deprecated, abandoned and even removed upstream. Unless you depend on its specific configuration / features, it's best to move to another DM.

Run "kcmshell4 kdm" to change kdm's settings, or edit the config file /usr/share/kde4/config/kdmrc manually with a text editor. You may have to disable the theming though, or modify the theme you use. AFAIK a theme may use its own font and ignore those settings.
