[opensuse-factory] Device Notifier not mounting external drives
Just a minor annoyance. The device notifier always fails to mount any external drives in Plasma 5. Saying I am not authorised to mount them. I have to click on the devices in Dolphin instead which does mount them. What's a quick fix?

I used to have the same problem a while ago, but an upgrade must have fixed it since it works now (maybe Frameworks 5.46 brought the fix, no idea). Do you have the latest snapshot installed?

I am. I wrote the email after applying the latest update just to be sure.

guess that would depend on what is "broken". I am on tw and it works for me, or at least is not broken. have you configured it? -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet freenode -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Not to my knowledge. A few months ago, it just stopped working properly. I chalked that up to some regression error in the updates that will probably get fixed. But it is still here, so I am guessing I need to configure something.

I'm seeing the same buggy behavior, if I click a second time on the device notifier icon and use open with file browser, it always work. Only the first call failed 100% of time. I was not able to determine the root cause, nor how to debug it properly. @Chan did you try to click a second time on device notifier app ? -- Bruno Friedmann Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch Bareos Partner, openSUSE Member, fsfe supporter GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 irc: tigerfoot -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Sorry folks. I left out an important detail. I am trying to mount encrypted external drives created using the YaST Partitioner. I just tested the behaviour with an unencrypted partition and mounting from device notifier works. I tried clicking a second time to mount previously, because clicking used to bring up a selection of applications for mounting. Now nothing can be clicked in the device notifier. So after clicking the device notifier, and entering the password, I open it using Dolphin to complete the mounting process. Looks like this is a genuine bug then. I will file a bug report against it unless someone has already opened one.
