[opensuse-factory] TW 20180331: libkdeinit5_kwrite removed?
Morning all, looks like some trouble with KDE again..... 1) trying to open a file out of Dolphin using kwrite, error message: library libkdeinit5_kwrite could not be found. And indeed, kwrite got removed by the last zypper dup. Manual reinstallation fixed it. Was it removed from template? 2) plug-in a USB-stick, select 'open with file manager': error message 'malformatted URL' and file manager does not open. Opening dolphin manually and selecting the USB-device displays the content, so mount process was working properly. Is this distro-specific or should I file a bug upstream? Anyone else seeing this? Hi, just an observation: Am Freitag, 6. April 2018, 09:14:17 CEST schrieb Axel Braun:

If I go to 'open with file manager' for a second time, the device gets opened correctly.

Yes. That's not a recent change though. It isn't installed by default in Leap 42.3 either (only kate is): Mon Feb 27 08:07:16 UTC 2017 - fvogt@suse.com - Replace kwrite with kate ( https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/460648 ) I suppose it's argueable whether we really should install two KDE text editors by default (IIRC both got pulled in somehow before that change, I'm not sure though), or whether we should prefer kate or kwrite (both are just different frontends to the same ktexteditor component anyway). In any case, it shouldn't get uninstalled on updates/upgrades if it was installed, unless there's some conflict.

That's somehow related to the last udisks2 update to 2.7.6, installing the previous version (2.6.5) from Leap 15.0 should "fix" that AFAIK. See https://github.com/storaged-project/udisks/issues/502 which suggests it may be related to using libmount that's enabled by default in 2.7.6 now. There are similar recent bug reports in KDE's bugzilla, they are about "already mounted" errors though so not necessarily the exact same problem (although they seem to be "fixed" by downgrading udisks2 as well). I'm getting this too now I've moved to 42.3. It didn't happen in 42.2

Do that, report the # and I'll MeToo it. -- When a subject becomes totally obsolete we make it a required course. -- Peter Drucker -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

It shouldn't happen on 42.3 either though. Unless you replaced some system packages with the latest versions from additional repos... (in which case it would probably also happen in 42.2 ;-) )

I already mentioned an udisks2 upstream bug report about this issue. I cannot tell if that really is *your* problem though, especially if you see it on 42.3 (which comes with udisks2.1.6, and that's a "regression" in 2.7.6 as mentioned).
