Which laptop? A ThinkPad? Then try the section "Turning the card on" and see where/when the error is reported: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Ericsson_F3507g_Mobile_Broadband_Module
(I can use under other distributions)
Which ones? Older or newer kernels? Any other openSUSE? Under Ubuntu 13.04, too? http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2170407

If this is the CME error code, then it means "invalid block". Very descriptive. :-/
Anyone have any idea?
The modem is found and responds to the commands sent by the modem manager. However, it refuses to initialize. Please create a log file in debug mode so we can see the command that triggers the error: # killall NetworkManager # killall -TERM modem-manager # modem-manager --debug # NM_PPP_DEBUG=1 /usr/sbin/NetworkManager --no-daemon http://userbase.kde.org/NetworkManagement/en https://wiki.gnome.org/NetworkManager/Debugging Gruß Jan -- Indecision is the basis of flexibility. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

BTW, which versions are you using? Please post the output of: # rpm -q NetworkManager ModemManager mobile-broadband-provider-info
[...] All test work fine: at+cfun=1 +PACSP0 It seems to good.
Well, I think the CDC Ethernet interface is used. Is your APN set correctly in the NetworkManager mobile connection? Please test it as described in the thinkwiki: AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","proxy" AT*ENAP=1,1 Where proxy is the appropriate APN of your provider. And to disconnect: AT*ENAP=0
When I try connect by network manager I got the error on the minicon (ttyACM1) console: +CME ERROR: 263
Nothing else? Too bad.
The modem is found and responds to the commands sent by the modem manager. However, it refuses to initialize. Please create a log file in debug mode so we can see the command that triggers the error: # killall NetworkManager # killall -TERM modem-manager # modem-manager --debug # NM_PPP_DEBUG=1 /usr/sbin/NetworkManager --no-daemon
enable mobile boradband: [...]
Please check /var/log/NetworkManager there are only the messages regarding NetworkManager. Furthermore, I do not see any output of "modem-manager --debug". But it is the most important one, containing any AT command and reply. Please make sure that you do replace your SIM PIN and other credentials or private data from its output by e.g. XXXX! Since its output is rather big, maybe you find the command that causes the CME ERROR and post only this to begin with. And some lines before and after...
