Factory: Removal of Pantheon (unless somebody really cares and steps up)
Dear Tumbleweed users and hackers, The package 'granite' has been failing to build since April 17 2024. Notifications have all remained unanswered and now, almost 4 months later, this package is still failing to build. The package belongs to the Pantheon desktop, and is dependency to many packages thereof. This mail thus serves to inform you, the community, that granite, and as a result all the packages depending on it, will be removed from Factory by August 13 unless new, active maintainership for this stack can be established. As usual, a removal does not need to be final and packages can be re- added at a later stage, should the maintainer status get resolved later on. Best regards, Dominique
I would be willing to maintain Pantheon, and already updated granite ( https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/1192583 ). Is there a way to get maintainership (as it's unlikely that somebody will respond, looking at the state of Pantheon -----Original Message----- From: Dominique Leuenberger <dimstar@opensuse.org> To: Factory MailinstList <factory@lists.opensuse.org> Subject: Factory: Removal of Pantheon (unless somebody really cares and steps up) Date: 06/08/24 09:21:45 Dear Tumbleweed users and hackers, The package 'granite' has been failing to build since April 17 2024. Thanks for stepping up Richard! I assigned your user project maintainer rights on X11:Pantheon. Cheers, Dominique
