[opensuse-factory] factory openSUSE-DVD-x86_64 builds broken ?
Hello, Is something broken in the openSUSE-DVD-x86_64 builds as the last published one was the 20-Nov-2012, where the i586 dvd was 25-Nov-2012 [1]. Questions: Which buildlog holds the build failed details ?, can it be fixed ?, had a look at [2] but could not figure out whats busted. Cheers Glenn [1]http://openqa.opensuse.org/opensuse/factory/iso/ openSUSE-DVD-x86_64-Build0204-Media.iso 20-Nov-2012 04:04 4.4G openSUSE-DVD-i586-Build0217-Media.iso 25-Nov-2012 01:01 4.2G [2] https://build.opensuse.org/package/live_build_log?arch=local&package=_product%3AopenSUSE-dvd5-dvd-x86_64&project=openSUSE%3AFactory&repository=images https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=_product%3AopenSUSE-dvd5-dvd-x86_64&project=openSUSE%3AFactory -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

If you can't figure it out, then why spam the list? Greetings, Stephan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Greetings, Stephan
Not spam (I hope) but is there a reason why the x86_64 builds are excluded? I was considering an upgrade to factory this weekend and would like to know this before potentially destroying my 12.2 install Anders -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I would never replace a stable version with a factory one. Hard disks are big enough to have both side by side. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. R. Are they? Have you seen my computer? Hint: it's not, nor do I intend to buy a new one Anders -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

And hard disks tend to be filled with other stuff. I find myself in that predicament quite often, having large disks filled with stuff and thus no GB to spare for some test. But that doesn't make that recommendation a bad one. You probably want to stick to a stable release for the base OS - make room for a VM. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Thank you for your concern, but barring any known serious bugs, I think I'll manage Anders -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

As it can only(?) require about an extra 10GiB for another partition for a test system, I'm a little surprised you can't find room for one. I've always partitioned my disk(s) to allow for about three systems, one operational, one test, and the old operational in case the new one goes belly up due to previously unseen bugs. So. on this machine, I have 12.1, 12.2 and 12.3-M1. Once the final release of 12.3 arrives, it will be installed on the 12.1 partition. -- Graham Davis, Bracknell, Berks. openSUSE 12.3-M1 (64-bit); KDE 4.9.3; AMD Phenom II X2 550 Processor; Video: nVidia GeForce 210 (using nouveau driver); Sound: ATI SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA); Wireless: BCM4306 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I don't usually reserve space even for the old operational. Perhaps I should. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

In the forum it has been reported that milestone 1, 64 bit version, is too big to fit in one DVD. View this thread: <http://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php?t=481026> - -- Cheers, Carlos E. R. Yes, but that doesn't deny it being broken. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. R.
