Here in openSUSE Team we are using a different openQA branch to make testing, and will be integrated in openQA V2 [1] [1] openQA V2: https://github.com/bmwiedemann/os-autoinst/tree/v2 On Monday, June 03, 2013 04:54:25 PM doiggl@velocitynet.com.au wrote:

I would agree, especially today LAMP is not that 100% reference. It would be better to get each component tested and working. Having apache2, lightd, nginx working. Having Mysql, couchdb, postgresql, mariadb, whateverDB working Having language working perl, python, php, ruby and this include with any of the webserver. So cacti could be setup not only on apache2 for example Remove funky forced deps about apache2 or whatever. For example webyast require nginx, other insist on lighttpd, and finally some want apache2 ... etc ... Perhaps this need to have a kind of %webserver and if any one is installed accept the fact that admin know what he want on his server. Sorry, but the feature sets of these browsers are just too different to be ruled by one rpm provide. E.g. passenger only supports apache and nginx and webyast even requires a specific version of ngnix because of the integration into it. But having nginx installed, doesn't mean you can't have apache on the same machine. Yeah I know WebYast2 was not the most idiot proof example See my request like auto-suggestion to make our whole distribution more deps centric on certain product when there's no absolute reason. -- Bruno Friedmann Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch openSUSE Member & Ambassador GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 irc: tigerfoot -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

You mean something like this? # rpm -q --provides apache2 |grep ^http http_daemon httpd ;-) If a package explicitely requires a specific webserver (for example apache) and you don't see a good reason for that, open a bugreport or send a submitrequest to change it to Requires: http_daemon Regards, Christian Boltz -- Geld. For testing recent PHP, you only need php (and possibly a DB). http://openqa.opensuse.org/opensuse/video/ moved to http://openqa.opensuse.org/openqa/video/ The easiest way to help with auto-testing is to just write a shell-script that will install, setup and test the desired software I now started with http://openqa.opensuse.org/openqa/qatests/qa_lamp.sh this already hits an error: # rcapache2 restart Module "authz_default" is not installed, ignoring. Check the APACHE_MODULES setting in /etc/sysconfig/apache2. googling for this error message found https://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/upgrading.html which hinted that this helps a2enmod unixd a2enmod access_compat
Sounds like https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=813705 ;-) Please remember to remove the a2enmod unixd / access_compat commands from qa_lamp.sh once this bug is fixed. Hello, I was thinking of: -Start Apache HTTP Server, MySQL (database software),and PHP, Perl or Python - Use existing application or install one that would use all the lamp components [Apache HTTP Server, MySQL (database software),and PHP, Perl or Python] and return a result [pass/fail] Any suggestions as to what application to use to test this lamp functionality ??
