[opensuse-factory] Tumbleweed and openSUSE 13.1 Look & Feel
Hi, By the time openSUSE 13.1 is out, will it be possible to install in Tumbleweed the openSUSE's *-branding* packages to get the official look & feel? Best regards, Ronan

iirc, Greg KH will add them when he officially changes the repo base from 12.3 to 13.1. Iow, you will get them automagically via zypper dup. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Exactly, when 13.1 is out, Tumbleweed empties out to nothing, and you will have a "clean" 13.1 release on your system (that's the goal at least.) That should include the branding as well, but sometimes the "upstream" branding does stick around, but you can always add it back if you want to. thanks, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks! But I have some problems with -branding packages. When I install openSUSE's branding packages, I get many conflicts when I try to update my system using YaST, then I need to switch them to the upstream versions. Also, I have conflicts with libqca2 and qt4-script. The problems does not occur if I use 'zypper dup' or if I change Tumbleweed repo to a higher priority. Am I doing something wrong? Is it possible to upgrade Tumbleweed using YaST? Thanks, Ronan

Yes, right now you can't do this with Tumbleweed, due to the updated packages.

I wouldn't recommend it, 'zypper dup' is the only way I support tumbleweed. And you will have to remove the opensuse branding packages right now for a working tumbleweed, that's the problem of how the kde and gnome packages are all build, sorry. greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
