Hello,
Sorry to use Factory in reality I'm using Tumbleweed and recently I noticed that pop-up a new gui warning about software update available.
The new one has a different graphic and it is reporting the updates as group if I click on the specific icon group I see the detail of packages available for updates.
Sorry for my explanation I don't know the name of this gui but I think someone of you have understood what I mean.
So I would like to know which of the two (the default gui or the newest) is better to maintain because I would like to have just one on my desktop.
Thanks and regards,
Ok I undesrtood the *alien* software update app is _"gnome-software"_! Wonder if I can get rid of it by uninstalling and by living just with the default *"gpk-update-viewer"* also because just for updating simple audio video packages, it ask me to install and reboot(?) in fact there is a single button in its GUI "Reboot and Install" that's a weird option/request IMHO, since I'm not installing new kernel or vídeo drivers...Is there a configuration setting for this app? Tks. Alien is a strange choice of word... but be my guest :)

gnome-software is *more* than a package updater - it just happens to offer this option in plus. G-S is a Software Center You can disable the automatic downloading of updates by g-s using: gsettings set org.gnome.software download-updates false Cheers, Dominique -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

This must become a knob in the GUI, there are already knobs for the repos. Olaf -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
