Re: [opensuse-factory] BlueZ 5

Hi Dominique,
I am testing the thing in kde... ok... the mouse part as I have a bluetooth one... still not working. I am using Raymond's packages which I suspect are not divergent form your test bed.
I don't think 'openobex' has anything to do with the mouse :) So this package should not do any difference. Can you pair the mouse using hcitool to verify if you see an 'underlying' issue on the BT stack as opposed to use the GUI tools? you schould be able to statr cluetoothctl (which is a 'shell' tool interacting with the stack): bluetoothctl [bluetooth]# list Controller <cmac> BlueZ 5.5 [default] [bluetooth]# select <cmac> [bluetooth]# power on [bluetooth]# scan on /// enable scanning mode on your mouse [bluetooth]# devices Device <mmac> Name: Bluetooth Mouse [bluetooth]# trust <mmac> [bluetooth]# pairable on [bluetooth]# pair <mmac> [bluetooth]# connect <mmac> That should confirm that the BT stack itself works as expected and would hint at anything GUI related 'not doing the right thing'. Blimey Dominique....
worked...
I did not say has anything to do with the obex... Based on the name of the thread thought this is the place to collect info about the bluez 5 experience.
Sure :) the thread might be the right one; the reply was on top of 'openobex' though.. so I just wanted to make sure
[alin@abaddon:~]: bluetoothctl [...] [bluetooth]#
So from this log, all looks like the mouse paired just fine.. does it also work ? Looking at bluedevil, the last commit was 5 days ago on the bluez5 branch; Raymonds package was last synced 3 weeks ago. So who knows... We'll keep on the ball and make BT work :) for sure! Dear Dominique, the mouse works like a charm... regards, Alin Without Questions there are no Answers! ______________________________________________________________________ Alin Marin ELENA http://alin.elenaworld.net/ ______________________________________________________________________ On 4 October 2013 10:35, Dominique Leuenberger a.k.a. Salut Alin, Quoting Alin Marin Elena <alinm.elena@gmail.com>:
Dear Dominique, the mouse works like a charm...
Perfect! So we can be rather sure that 'bluez5' itself is fine; the bluedevil stack on top still having issues though. I assume work is still ongoing upstream for this module? Anyway: for 'our own help' I created a tracking bug https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=844041 linking to the existing BT bugs which likely are related to BlueZ5 at this moment (two of them seem to be obex related by the way). Might be good to also register the BT mouse pairing as a separate issue (which we expect to be solved with the updates from bluedevil). Cheers, and thanks for testing!
