[opensuse-factory] Contrib: Rare/specific packages review
Hi All ! Next question on topic is: How-to review rare/specific packages ? Such as: "dot2tex" That recently arrived here as candidate: http://en.opensuse.org/Contrib/packages I have zero knowledge in both formats, so I feel like a pig in oranges :) I think the only review that can be done in such cases, is the home page URL (upstream), license, and hope for the better... Alternatively ask Novell guys. But whom ? Any ideas? -- -Alexey Eromenko "Technologov" --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

I wouldn't call it rare, really. Graphviz and Tex are both widely used and I would submit that many Tex users would be very interested in this package. Especially since the kind of people that use Tex are often the kind of people that use Graphviz. Also, I started building this package on a request from a user. -- James Oakley jfunk@funktronics.ca --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

... if it's packaged correctly, if it doesn't conflict with other packages in the distro, etc. The review should really focus on the packaging, license, upstream status and all that. Testing the packages should be done by users, who know best what to expect from the application.
