Installed sddm onto my laptops, a dell and an acer, and after one successful boot, am getting only a green (layered) background screen an no display or possible keyboard input. Cannot go to virtual terminal. Only <ctrl><alt><backspace> gives me the terminal output and last lines are: Started Permit Suer Sessions. Starting Wait for Plymouth Boot Screen to Quit... Starting Terminate Plymouth Boot Screen... Am able to ssh to laptops over ssh, htop reveals little to no action other than itself. What to do? tks, <update> found in /var/log/Xorg.0.log/old [ 81.437] (II) intel(0): Using Kernel Mode Setting driver: i915, version 1.6.0 20150130 [ 81.437] (WW) Falling back to old probe method for modesetting [ 81.437] (WW) Falling back to old probe method for fbdev [ 81.437] (II) Loading sub module "fbdevhw" [ 81.437] (II) LoadModule: "fbdevhw" [ 81.496] (II) Loading /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/libfbdevhw.so [ 81.511] (II) Module fbdevhw: vendor="X.Org Foundation" [ 81.511] compiled for 1.17.1, module version = 0.0.2 [ 81.511] ABI class: X.Org Video Driver, version 19.0 [ 81.511] (WW) Falling back to old probe method for vesa [ 83.911] (EE) intel(0): [drm] failed to set drm interface version: Permission denied [13].
