[opensuse-factory] akonadi and kmail problem
My Kmail is regularly not showing the content from the emails. Using akonadictl fsck/ vacuum does not help. Akonadictl restart gets Kmail working again until the next mishap. Looking into the text showing during the restart I found following: org.kde.pim.akonadi_indexer_agent: Database Corrupted - What did you do? Remembered that there is a solution deleting a database cache if I remember well. Which cache should that be and what can I expect afterwards? -- opensuse:tumbleweed:20180416 Qt: 5.10.0 KDE Frameworks: 5.44.0 - KDE Plasma: 5.12.4 - kwin 5.12.4 kmail2 5.7.3 - akonadiserver 5.7.3 - Kernel: 4.16.1-1-default -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

You could try the process here: https://docs.kde.org/trunk5/en/pim/kmail2/clean-start-after-a-failed-migrati... -- opensuse:tumbleweed:20180416 Qt: 5.10.0 KDE Frameworks: 5.44.0 - KDE Plasma: 5.12.4 - kwin 5.12.4 kmail2 5.7.3 - akonadiserver 5.7.3 - Kernel: 4.16.1-1-default - xf86-video-nouveau: 1.0.15 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Remembered that there is a solution deleting a database cache if I remember well. Which cache should that be and what can I expect afterwards? From all emails or only from some folder? Is there a specific error shown in the taskbar below the kmailwindow? (Like left right error or such?). Did you recently migrate from the 4 to the 5 version? Did the machine crash recently while using kmail? Pop or IMAP?

~/.local/share/baloo/* and/or ~/.local/share/akonadi/search_db/*, depending on when you started to use kmail. Delete those directories if they exist. That will only delete the index used for searching mails and certain other functions, it will be recreated from scratch. (deleting ~/.local/share/baloo/ will also affect the file index, so you might want to only delete the subfolders other than "file"...) I don't know whether that will help with your mail display problem though.
