[opensuse-factory] Plasma 5.12 LTS beta coming to Tumbleweed
Hi everyone, so currently the Plasma 5.12 Beta seems to be in a very good shape already. It's currently in a staging together with KDE Frameworks 5.42, ready to be checked in. Until now we never submitted any Beta versions to TW, but we're about to change that! If there aren't any major objections, we'd like to mark 5.11.95 as ready to be accepted, which means it will end up in the snapshot 20180121. For reference, here's the upstream announcement: https://www.kde.org/announcements/plasma-5.11.95.php Cheers, the KDE team -- Luca Beltrame - KDE Forums team KDE Science supporter GPG key ID: A29D259B
No objections here, I am using the beta since some days from the frameworks repo and I did not find any issues so far. Thanks for your great work! Cheers, Robby. -- On Montag, 22. Januar 2018 09:08:07 CET Luca Beltrame wrote:

Well, I did notice an issue: The comic plasmoid stopped working here. It doesn't display anything, and even crashes the desktop if I call some context menu actions. Probably not critical though... ;-) Kind Regards, Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

It would be great if the packaged server status plasmoid worked with plasma 5. Last I checked it was not compatible with plasma 5. Even if it was packaged and could be installed... -- Roger Oberholtzer -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

It depends on kdebase4-runtime/workspace and Qt4, so, yes, it is kde4 only. There is no any sign of kf5/plasma5. There is Plasma5 on kde-look [1], maybe it will work for you. It looks QML only, so no special need for packaging. [1] https://store.kde.org/p/1190292/ -- Kind regards, Mykola Krachkovsky -- Найкращі побажання, Микола Крачковський

Is there any report of success or failure with the damn not that well loved nvidia binary ? (I unfortunately totally depend on it) Nvidia work nicely with actual TW 20180120, kernel 4.4.14 Mesa 17.3.3. -- Bruno Friedmann Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch Bareos Partner, openSUSE Member, fsfe fellowship GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 irc: tigerfoot -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

As far as I know, no, but I don't own any NVIDIA hardware personally.

0121 is very optimistic - considering your query was sent out on 0122 :) But that's just a number; from a Factory perspective, there are no objections from my end. Cheers, Dominique

No objections. Especially as I've long time at openSUSE 11-13 times used Unstable repository for KDE ;) So if openQA says fine, why not? -- Kind regards, Mykola Krachkovsky -- Найкращі побажання, Микола Крачковський

plasma-pa was broken in this beta/snapshot, and has been fixed in upstream: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389402 so, I think it must be updated in TW On 2018-01-22 18:08, Luca Beltrame wrote:
