Depends. They can be resized online when you're using LVM and reiserfs (or XFS, but you can only grow XFS partitions, not shrink them).

Hello folks! I´m just trying to find out how to get my Broadcom-WLAN on my Asus A2D Laptop working. As this is the first version with the bcm43xxx-module integrated in the kernel I have no experience in setting up wireless networks on Linux. So I asume I´m doing something wrong. What I did: I updated today from a fresh beta2 to RC1 from a local directory (yum-repo). I tried to setup the card in yast: -I choosed the networkmanager-method. -e.g I chosed : "start at boot" instead of "start when cable is plugged in" which was the original state after installation. then I tried to start the connection via Knetwormanager-applet. From the other OS I know : Authentfication:open key: WEP Result: The statusbar grows up to 28% (Status Gerätekonfiguration) and then stagnates. What can I do? / What is the prefered Way to do this ? I would really be happy if I can get some help to get this working Peter Buschbacher Following: some of the output of dmesg: first part bootprocess, last part one try with knetworkmanager I think. See Mandrake installer. The partition tool is totally sweet. Sometimes I still carry one disk 1 of mandrake, just to manipulate the disk's partitions. As I told M9 in other mail, there is some nice tools outside. Still, would be nice to have it on suse. ;) -M -- Mauro Parra www.mechulk.com

If you did not use LVM to create partitions, you can NOT use it afterwards..sorry.

I did not in the first place, so if i want to change something, i have to delete everything, and start over, capice?

I haven't tested the scripts that should be available in factory now. But I extracted firmware with fwcutter manually and my bcm4306 works like a charm with (K)NetworkManager, wpa-personal and everything. Life's a lot better than it was using Ndiswrapper. Hi, In openSUSE 10.2RC1 when I run K3B as root it can't find growisofs? When run with normal user privileges K3B runs OK. Is there now (10.2RC1) a need to run K3B as root? Thanx I now am one step futher, now it´s able to see the wireless networks around. I ´m stuck in "IP-configuration". But I´m optimistic it´s possible to get it configured, although I think I´ve already tried all obvious options. Has anybody a good link about how to determine what exactly is the fault right now? ciau Peter --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
