Why is golang in Tumbleweed at version 1.11.5 at the moment while Leap 15.1 already has version 1.12? regards

Nobody feels responsible to update the version number of the go package. But you can install go1.12, that's already at 1.12.7. Thanks, yes I knew that a newer version is in the repos, just wondered that isn't linked to by the go metapackage.

Yes, that was an oversight on my part. I submitted boo#684131 [1] to update the go metapackage concurrently with go1.12, rejected due to go1.12 not being accepted yet. boo#720893 is now open to correct this, and I will stagger the corresponding SRs for go1.13 to avoid a repeat.
