More info. I do not know that it is related to Intel graphics, it is just the one in the NUC that I have TW running. It never achieves a kwin session when logging in. For example "kwin_x11 -session 10157100e6ea000144163822700000229630001_1442200896_955274" is never achieved. The journal does have many of the following messages.
