Hey openSuSE; Why is it that all /etc/permission.* are being overlooked or not even loaded? I have to set the sound /dev/dsp, mixer and audio so that amarok and any flash file is allowed to work as a "user" in X. I have set the permission in /etc/group like a good little boy and it still fails. With pluseaudio on it never worked. It is set to off by way of yast2 and hardware. This is also in runlevel 3. -- 73 de Donn Washburn 307 Savoy Street Email:" n5xwb@comcast.net " Sugar Land, TX 77478 LL# 1.281.242.3256 Ham Callsign N5XWB HAMs : " n5xwb@arrl.net " VoIP via Skype:n5xwbg BMWMOA #:4146 Ambassador " http://counter.li.org " #279316 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

/etc/permission.* does not set permissions on device files in /dev. You need udev to do that. Regards, Tejas -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
