[opensuse-factory] Support for root on dmraid?
I finally got around to skimming through SLES12 documentation and was caught by this statement in deployment guide: --><-- Installing to and booting from existing software RAID volumes is supported for Disk Data Format (DDF) volumes and Intel Matrix Storage Manager (IMSM) volumes. --><-- This seems to imply mdadm only. Is it the same for openSUSE as well? Does it mean that dmraid explicitly is not supported by installer? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

YaST does support dmraid. It might be buggy since I don't have any BIOS RAID hardware to test it. I installed a beta on Intel BIOS RAID. It worked. Regards Oliver -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Intel is using mdadm, not dmraid; at least by default. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
