[opensuse-factory] 12.1 RC 2 will not install on Acer aspire 7720 (AMD)
Hi, Downloaded 64bit iso, checked it, burned it, checked it again and tried to install 12.1. Everything looks fine but after a few seconds intallation stops with a nice splashscreen. Trying alt-F2 for the console it shows "Starting udev..." and that's it. Tried it tree times, waited for 5 minutes if something happens and gave up... regards, Giel Peters -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Wait longer ;) This is an error that some people have and we have not found out how to reproduce it to debug it. I had it on one machine yesterday and tried it several times to reproduce without success ;-( Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger aj@{suse.com,opensuse.org} Twitter/Identica: jaegerandi SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

We had some success when using maxcpus=1 while booting - this is what we added as workaround. Greetings, Stephan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
