[opensuse-factory] weather widget
Hi I downloaded the weather widget and installed it on the desktop, configured it to use the correct city via www.yr.no and it worked fine. So i then installed it on the panel and it did not use the already configured setting, i had to reconfigure it. Does anyone know where i should log a bug for it as there is no identifying info for the developer. regards Ian -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

With some exceptions, this is how Plasma applets work: configuration is per-instance, not global. -- Luca Beltrame - KDE Forums team KDE Science supporter GPG key ID: A29D259B -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

ok. thanks. What is the logic behind that? it sounds crazy to me. i could have 10 panels with the same applet on each and i'd have to configure each one. Does it not store the config? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

The logic is that you can and may have applets with multiple configurations. Some "mainstream" examples: - Clocks showing different timezones - Different folder views (on this activity I have 3 for example) All the configs are always stored in the same file though, ~/.config/ plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc. -- Luca Beltrame - KDE Forums team KDE Science supporter GPG key ID: A29D259B -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

thanks. maybe the clock applet should just use your local timezone and then display more clocks by adding a clock with a + or - time difference to your local time - it shouldn't take much to store that config. Is applet programming limited in what it can do? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
