Someone could easily cancel my command, and have access to my user-level privileges.
Does anyone know of a way to lock out the tty session automatically after the x screenlocker is invoked?
You can run zypper in screen (actually you /should/ run zypper in screen) and lock screen then.
And if you use screen (or tmux) you don't need a separate tty session.
Andreas.
Why does zypper not automatically run within screen or tmux if everybody recommends it? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I simply follow whatever documentation I can find. If someone is willing to write how to properly do zypper dup on a tty via screen ot tmux on the openSUSE wikis, I think uptake will follow. I only do zypper dup in tty because I followed a guide sometime ago that mentioned it was to avoid potential crashes if the x-session clashes with the update.
