Hello, I'm using tumbleweed, and I use the EID software with firefox and seamonkey. It is working on some sites but sometimes I need to connect (entry pin code), exit from browser and reload the browser: mostly when I want to connect different sites. The following software is installed: # rpm -qa eid* eid-viewer-5.0.8-2.4.x86_64 eid-mw-libs-5.0.8-2.4.x86_64 eid-mw-5.0.8-2.4.x86_64 eid-mw-firefox-5.0.8-2.4.x86_64 and the eid extension for firefox from https://eid.belgium.be/ Regards -- Philippe Condé

Regards Thanks for the info. For #rpm -qa eid* also gives the above files as installed.
Where and especialy how do I get the eid extension for firefox? If I start with the Belgian site with the header "Log in with eID card reader I end with Login Failed or a 5 minit wait with the help text. just try it again. . Must be missing something.

In Firefox you must search for the EID extension and install it. I did a screen shot of this extension in firefox (sorry in french) see https://paste.opensuse.org/1889396. With this extension and the midleware I can connect without problem on site like tax-on-web but some sites doesn't work (F.ex connection to some hospital websites) Regards Philippe -- Philippe Condé

In addition to the "eid-*" packages (Belgium-specific part), you also need the "pcsc" packages (that's the daemon that interfaces with SmartCard readers in general) -- at least these 2 packages: - pcsc-ccid - pcsc-lite Once installed, enable and start "pcscd" service. Depending on the exact reader device you use, you may need an extra driver module from the pcsc-* packages -- finding out which one works has been a hit-and-miss process, at least in some cases. In other cases (such as on my Lenovo P53 laptop), just these 2 are enough. (Please note that I don't use TW -- Leap 15.2 ATM). HTH Cheers. Bye. Ph.
