[opensuse-factory] Libreoffice crashes when trying to save a document
Hi all, In TW, latest snapshot (but maybe some snapshots before already) with LibreOffice 5.4 beta LO crases when tryning to save a new document. I get libreoffice LibreOffice(23359) KSambaSharePrivate::getNetUserShareInfo: We got some errors while running 'net usershare info' LibreOffice(23359) KSambaSharePrivate::getNetUserShareInfo: "Failed to init messaging context " when started from the terminal. Saving existing documents after making changes to it works, though. Any thoughts? regards, Jogchum Reitsma -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Mmm, gave it a try, but I'm not experiencing this error. Which is the setting of the file dialogue ? Extra Opties Algemeen ? -- Gertjan Lettink, a.k.a. None of the options in that dialog is selected. But it did trigger me: after selecting "Use LibreOffice opening/saving dialogue" (my translation of the Dutch message) the crash is gone. After resetting it to the default. the crash re-appears. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I have libreoffice-gtk3 uninstalled and locked, don't remember why. Will unlock it, install and see if LO crashes. -- Gertjan Lettink, a.k.a. Just noticed now: in my settings the option for 'Use LibreOffice printing dialogue' is checked. Could you check with that option checked? And the other unchecked ? -- Gertjan Lettink, a.k.a. Where do you see that option? Cannot find it in the latest LO version (5.4.0.0.beta2) in TW. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Not here - do you also have 5.4.0.0.beta2 on TW? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Although the error message is caused by an actual bug (https:// bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1043115), it is not related to the crash. But fact is that these messages appear when - LibreOffice open/save dialogs are *not* selected - one tries to save a new document, or "save as" an existing document; ergo creating a document that didn't exist when opening LibreOffice. The save-dialog is shown for a few seconds, the error messages appear on the terminal, then LO crashes immediately. kind regards, Jogchum -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I dont see the error message either, but I dont have Samba (shares) active. Looks like this is the rot of your problem. Cheers Axel -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

The message above is coming from the Samba "net" command. It is used to *probe* *if* there are shares on your host. I get the same error messages, but LO does *not* crash. Both when using LOs file dialogs and KDEs dialogs. Cheers Axel I also don't have Samba-shares (no Windows in our infra). I tried to get rid of Samba altogether, but that gave a mass of dependency warnings...
