This is Bugzilla #527312 that I had filed six weeks ago, but somehow not consistently reproducibly. I'm kind of glad you are able to see this, that may help getting it nailed down. ;-) It would be great could you have a look at that https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=527312 and provide the information requested by the developer. Yes please. In this case, the command would be # bash -x /usr/lib/module-init-tools/weak-modules2 \ --add-kmp kmp-desktop-1.1_2.6.31_rc9_7-1.14 &>log Does the "FATAL: Could not open /boot/System.map-" message appear in the log file if you run the command? This is all that happened. Or the log should appear somewhere else? The command should be typed on a single line without the '\'. The '\' is just to signify that the command was split over two lines. The log should appear in whatever directory it was run in.

As the previous poster tried to explain, the output is redirected to the file 'log' in the current directory. Just check if the error message is in the file: # grep '/boot/System.map- ' log and if so, please attach the file to https://bugzilla.novell.com/527312 Michal -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

There is no /boot/system.map-' as such. I have several, see attachment. Do you need the last one? Or am i still mistaken? (maybe you think i am stupid, but did not handle this earlier..;) AMD64x2-SFN1:/home/oddball # # grep '/boot/System.map- ' log AMD64x2-SFN1:/home/oddball # -- Enjoy your time around, Oddball (M9.)
