[opensuse-factory] Selecting Screensaver sends RC1 back to logon menu
RC1 upgraded (with smart) with all the latest files as of 1 hour ago. Selecting Configure Desktop>Appearance & Themes>Screensaver terminates RC1 and sends it back to the logon menu (Name/Password). Same results with 4 attempts. Cheers. -- In a period of great joy and pleasure you are comforted by the thought that tragedy is just around the corner. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Mine works. Both by right clicking on the desktop and going via the menus. -- Vahis Motorcycling, Boating and openSUSE: http://waxborg.servepics.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Another "It works here" reply :-( . :-) I'll boot into 10.2 later and try again. But having to keep booting into 10.2 seems to me that something is unstable somewhere... Sorry for not being able to help. The logic behind "mine works" is to say that it is not at least such a bug that it stops this functionality in all cases. And your question also was "I'm not telling you anything of my system, its architecture or anything at all, I just don't know what it does or does not do" That's why I didn't say anything of mine either. But it is x86 32 bit, running as quest on VMWare, host being 10.0. Since this list is very much about finding bugs, removing them and discussing development in general, it's a given that you need to tell more about your system and the circumstances you ran into problems :)
:-)
I'll boot into 10.2 later and try again. But having to keep booting into 10.2 seems to me that something is unstable somewhere...
Cheers.
So it seems. -- Vahis Motorcycling, Boating and openSUSE: http://waxborg.servepics.com "Why wait any longer for the world to begin? You can have your cake and eat it, too." Your X server crashes (most likely the screensaver is the first OpenGL app you tried). You want to check /var/log/messages/ for various logs Greetings, Stephan --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

It crashed in a couple of other places as well - eg, trying to run glxgears crashed it - so what I did was recompile the nVidia driver and this fixed it. Weird. But that's computers :-) .
