[opensuse-factory] RPM 4.6 / openSUSE
Hi, as you probably heard / read, rpm.org released version 4.6 of rpm. Novell is one of the companies actively supporting this branch of RPM. I was thus wondering if RPM 4.6 will be used to get closer to upstream (again) or if we actually drifted that far off that going to the (now again) maintained version is not yet possible.
From what I understood, RPM 4.6 marks LZMA support as experimental.. we from openSUSE can probably say it works pretty well for us.

rpm 4.6 is actually not that far away from 4.4.2.3. We'll probably use it for 11.2 (with some SUSE specific patches, plus reverting some Fedora specific changes). Is that true that it provides history with the same information we have in zypp/history? -- Duncan Mac-Vicar P. - Engineering Manager, YaST SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nuernberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
