[opensuse-factory] SUSE Tumbleweed since today lost sound - solution
Hello, Since today (18.04.2019) SUSE Tumbleweed lost sound because of upgrade pulseaudio-12.2-2.2.x86_64.rpm to broken pulseaudio-12.2-3.1.x86_64.rpm If you want to test if you were hit by broken upgrade check this: [root@localhost] pulseaudio E: [pulseaudio] ltdl-bind-now.c: Failed to open module /usr/lib64/pulse-12.2/modules/module-alsa-card.so: /usr/lib64/pulse-12.2/modules/libalsa-util.so: undefined symbol: pa_alsa_ucm_device_update_available Another evidence is you will not see any audio devices if you click speaker icon in KDE tray. Workaround: rollback to pulseaudio-12.2-2.2.x86_64.rpm and reboot (the older pulseaudio release you can get from rpmfind site or other). zypper in -f pulseaudio-12.2-2.2.x86_64.rpm reboot This issue is tracked in bug: 1132880 have a nice day, Zbigniew Luszpinski -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Hmm, maybe it's strange but everything works fine for me with pulseaudio-12.2-3.1. Sound works in KDE Plasma without problems. KDE Volume Plasmoid and pavucontrol-qt both show devices and programs. -- Kind regards, Mykola Krachkovsky -- Найкращі побажання, Микола Крачковський

I do not see any error, am using the upgraded pulseaudio, 12.2-3.1.x86_64, did the upgrade in a normal manner. sound works and the icon shows my audio devices as it did previous. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet freenode -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
