This morning at 8:55am my time, gmt -5, I did a zypper dup and my kernel was updated to: kernel-desktop-3.8.2-31.1.x86_64 Later today 12.3 became available via Tumbleweed repos but zypper wants to downgrade the kernel to: kernel-desktop-3.7.10-1.1.1.x86_64 Should I do the downgrade or lock kernel-desktop from openSUSE Current OSS/openSUSE Current updates confused. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

That is correct, Tumbleweed ended up having a newer kernel than 12.3 did. There are a number of other packages that would downgrade as well (git is one example.) This is normal, Tumbleweed is now empty. thanks, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
