[opensuse-factory] Starting xterm directory
xterm opens in ~/Documents but I do not know why. I haven't purposefully made that *specific* configuration. konsole opens in ~/ Documents pathname does not exist in /etc/bash.bashrc, /etc/profile or /etc/bash.bashrc.local or ~/.bashrc or ~/.profile ??? It is somewhat agrivating and *is* easily correctible but that shouldn't be necessary.... -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

My guess is that it's related to this: https://bugzilla.novell.com:443/show_bug.cgi?id=438993 It's indeed extremely annoying. Try if changing the document folder path in systemsettings -> About me helps -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

maybe :^), but more to follow

Didn't appear to. Made the change and no effect, restarted plasma-desktop and also no change. Didn't reboot.... as suggested maybe necessary in the bug reports. There is a *large* problem here for neophytes with the offer to move all the files... Note that starting dolphin from the 'run_command' box or a command line in xterm starts in the $HOME directory unless a specific parameter is provided. AND konsole start in $HOME *with* a size 8 font on my 1920 x 1200 display and 68 year old tri-focal aided optical sensors. I do have a loupe handy :^). Another change magically appeared this morning that I cannot relate to any recent update/upgrade/install, xterm has returned to it's ancient color background, light yellow, w/green (??) text from white w/black text. I did *not* make this change purposefully. Finally discovered how to enable hotkey actions. Just entering them in the menu editor does nothing but record the assignment. You must open khotkeys and then click on various lines/boxes until the greyed out menu options become black and editing becomes available. Then the assignments may be activated/edited. Did I say that the "Help" function was also greyed out? *Amazing* things are happening. -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Did init 3, installed nvidia drivers, init 5, and xterm is back to black on white.
