[opensuse-factory] Tumbleweed - Review of the week 2017/30
Dear Tumbleweed users and hackers, The ‘dry period’ is over and Tumbleweed snapshots started coming in again after the ’10-day break’. Since the last review, we had 6 snapshots (0721..0726). Even though 0721 was synced out to the mirrors (after passing openQA) the bot forgot to send out the announcement email; the changes were then included in the announcement for the 0722 snapshot. The 6 snapshots brought these updates: * Mesa 17.1.5 * GStreamer 1.12.2 * KDE Frameworks 5.36.0 * libzypp version in preparation for a repo-type change (repository type change is planned for End of August, giving you ~ 4 weeks to update until you will have to manually fix things if missed) * LibreOffice 5.4.0.2 * KDE Applications 17.04.3 What can you expect in the upcoming snapshots: * systemd 234 – snapshot 0727 already had it merged, but it was reverted (snapshot not published) as a boot issue with separate /usr partitions was identified. The issue has been identified and a fix is in the makings. Expect the update in any of the next updates after 0729. * Linux Kernel 4.12.x: after the issues of the raid10 blocks, no final submission could be merged yet (updates come in quicker than we can build/test) * Apache 2.4.27 * RPM update, with the new %pkg_vcmp macros included (assisting in applying patches based on package versions present instead of arbitrary suse_version) Please be informed that Tumbleweed will be in the capable hands of Max Lin and Ludwig Nussel during the next two weeks; I will be trying to chase some sun with my motorbike.
