[opensuse-factory] pullin-msttf-fonts doesn't work
In factory, installing pullin-msttf-fonts-11.4-1.8 doesn't trigger the installation of the MS TTFs. There is a line Recommends: fetchmsttfonts in the RPM but this script seems to be missing. Werner, As far as I know that will be one of the last things to be fixed... iirc you can use without too many issues the 11.3 one to install the evil's fonts --- joking. Alin On Fri 19 Nov 2010 20:08:14 Werner LEMBERG wrote:

I've done that right now, thanks. Werner -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Do these really need to be in a default pattern given that there is liberation-fonts? -- Guido Berhoerster -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Liberation is limited to one serif, one sans & one monospace. It, nor anything else, FOSS or otherwise commonly available, has any equivalent to Georgia, the best & largest apparent size of the legacy M$ serif fonts. Liberation Serif is smaller; DejaVu/Bitstream Vera Serif are larger. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." I second this, we have good free fonts and I find the script to download the fonts rather hackish as it is hard to remove them afterwards. Or is there any good reason to pull in the msfonts for basicly every desktop install? Its actually "rpm -e fetchmsttfonts" to remove them since 11.3, as the installed fonts are %ghosted. Ciao, Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Oh neat! They were pulled in on 11.1 for me and after that experience removing the pullin packages from the installation was basicly my first customisation step to avoid manual cleaning later on =/ Regards, Karsten -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Interestingly enough, on 11.3, I've just tried installing pullin-msttf-fonts including --recommends which should have installed fetchmsttfonts but I had to actually specify fetchmsttfonts before it was installed and then it downloaded and installed the fonts.
