I can confirm the issue. System freezes - or at least appears to when switching to tty1. Needs a hard reboot in that case I use Plasma5 with OpenGL 3.0 , generally the performance seems to get worse in the last few snapshots I have constantly microfreezes for a few seconds in nearly everything I do with the system. could you say the number you are trying to switch to and if it does not work on 1 to 6? 1 to 6 work for me, 12 works since is dumps journal, others do not (though i have never tried them before) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I have same blank screen w/cursor. the tty is actually there and may be used but you cannot see what is being typed. I boot to multi-user and all tty's display properly until I go to graphical and back to multi-user. the tty's display properly when I am in graphical provided i boot to multi-user and the access graphical, until I return to multi-user. I also use the nvidia driver, 378.13, and the display has been this way for about 40 days for me. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
I've tried a switch user and logged into the GUI as another user. Switching between graphical screens works. Only the textual console screens do not work (are not displayed, input appears to work). It worked before and I have specific X settings, which I'll check. Thanks for all the feedback. On 02-03-17 15:19, Patrick Shanahan wrote:

Sorry, spoke too soon: the tearing is still there (crossing fingers for the lock ups). I had to reintroduce the xorg.conf configuration. Did narrow the CTRL-ALT-F# problem down to the "uxa" AccelMethod. Replacing this with "sna" fixes the problem. On 03-03-17 12:09, opensuse@maridonkers.info wrote:

Log in via ssh, and use `chvt 1` / `chvt 7` to switch between ttys; at the same time, look in the process list if the fitting getty gets spawned. That should answer all the questions. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
