[opensuse-factory] Kmail suffering, still does not want to send my emails
Working with a fully updated Tumbleweed I still cannot send emails. Receiving is with the usual small problems like not directly sorting my emails in their sub-directories after a reboot (waiting for my sorting command). The information after the failed send has now changed to : Email sending failed. Failed to transport message. Connection to server lost Would like to find out where to look for the repair. Which log file I have to study etc.. What is used as server by Kmail? This email send with Claws mail is able to connect with the server :( . -- opensuse:tumbleweed:20180107 Qt: 5.10.0 KDE Frameworks: 5.40.0 kf5-config: 1.0 KDE Plasma: 5.11.5 plasmashell 5.11.5 Kernel: 4.14.12-1-default Linux User 183145 working on a Pentium IV . -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Open a terminal, export KSMTP_SESSION_LOG="ksmtp.log", then run "akonadictl restart". Try to send a mail afterwards. That log will contain the full SMTP session. It *does* include also passwords, so do NOT post it blindly here: anonymize it first. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I tried this too, but used a full path like "/home/user/ksmtp.log", did not get this file. -- fr.gr. member openSUSE Freek de Kruijf -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Try this then: akonadictl stop export KSMTP_SESSION_LOG="ksmtp.log" akonadictl start And try to send a mail afterwards. This should create a ksmtp.log in the shell's current directory, or you can of course use an absolute path too if you prefer... And as I already wrote twice, setting a custom hostname in the sending account settings might help in some cases. (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=388160) The fix for this has been accepted to Factory 21 hours ago, but is not in the latest Tumbleweed snapshot yet. (should be in the next one then) Kind Regards, Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
Same here, but only sometimes and only with attachments. Lastly, the mail even was sent despite the error message. Cheers, Robby. -- On Mittwoch, 10. Januar 2018 06:51:31 CET C. Brouerius van Nidek wrote:
