I am installing a few new machines to be used in a conference and I would like to show off the latest version of Opensuse. Will there be a way to upgrade from RC2 to the final release?
The following worked for me:
zypper sa ftp-distribution (once it's available) zypper update -t package
Hi Andreas, I presume that the mentioned RC2 is an internal release? Two questions about it: on RC1 i saw that perl-DBD-mysql is not included any more As we use mysql a lot from perl-scripts, its an unpleasent surprize. Will this package be available? Second one, more or less passed on the list, the python script that launches xen-guest is not capable anymore to extract the kernel/initrd from a dom-u disk-image. That's something that was perfectly working under 10.2. otoh, when i provide initrd&kernel explicitly, i'm perfectly able to run 10.1 guests on a 10.3 DOM-0 (both 64-bit) Is this solved? I presume these are "known features @suse", thus nothing for bugzilla.... Hans

There aren't public iso's for RC2, but you can update to it via factory

I had no problems installing it yesterday, from factory too. Cheers. Miquel --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Yes, it is.

It might not be on the media - but it is part of the ftp installation.

I don't know - please search bugzilla and if it's not filled, create a new bugreport, Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, Director Platform / openSUSE, aj@suse.de SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126

"once it's available" means it is _NOT_ available yet, that is what you are missing. There is not url to give you.
