[opensuse-factory] Why is LibreOffice at 5.4 beta2 version in TW?
Hi there, I just noticed that my next TW upgrade would give me LibreOffice 5.4.0.0.beta2. What's the reason for this push to the next version while it's still in development? Isn't this a bit risky? I remember when LibreOffice 5.3 was released, and TW waited several weeks before updating to it. Thanks for the information.
My guess is because the maintainer thinks it's stable, submitted it, and because openQA has tested it and found no problems Sure looks like it's working to me.. https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/433060#step/ooffice/5 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

in the release notes, Dominique Leuenberger stated the package was considered "stable" even thou labled beta and released it. do you not read about the software you install to determine it's usability for your purposes? you could have locked it out. have you found it to be otherwise? have you submitted bug reports citing the problems you have encountered? remember that in spite of the labeling, "stable" software contains bugs. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet freenode -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I started to block the LibreOffice packages from openSUSE (TW) and started installing the LibreOffice packages from upstream directly, because I was sometimes unhappy with decisions like
