Do "zypper in rpm" first, or use yast to just update rpm. Then continue updating as normal. -- Benjamin Weber --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Thanks for the quick response. i tried using YaSt to update all the YaSt RPMS but got the same error on most of them. I'll try the zypper in rpm from the command line as root later today. Hope thats right, I'm just learning zypper. Always used YaST in the past. I like what I've seen of zypper, just need to learn all the features. Thanks again.

Using YaST: search for 'rpm' package and mark it to update to the latest version. Only this particular package. Then press "Accept". This should work without problems. Then you can update all other packages you are interested in. Anyway, isn't there a way to provide some better feedback from RPM? Make all other packages conflicting with the old RPM? Er, ehm, even if it doesn't sound so good, it has its logic :) ;) Can we solve this somehow? Can we solve this somehow? Actually the info is in the requires of the rpm, but rpm somehow ignores it itself - and the solver does on purpose ;(
