[opensuse-factory] Next Tumbleweed snapshot 0602 - Large download ahead
Dear Tumbleweed Users, The next Tumbleweed snapshot (0602) is being synced out and will reach the FTP Servers soon. This will be a big strain on your bandwidth - as it was a full rebuild of the entire distro. Why you ask? Newly, the distro is built using GCC 10.1 (no longer GCC 9.3). And it was about time to get a full rebuild again. There are likely a bunch of packages that won't be able to correctly update, as a lot of packages (~ 600) currently fail to build in openSUSE:Factory. All those are candidates to cause trouble. The most notable one we've seen in openQA will be wine and gnucash. Both are being worked on and will have fixes provided rather soon. So, this is just a heads up - start making some space on your disk to cater for the large zypper cache :) Cheers, Dominique

Inxi is not all that easy for its novice users to interpret with so much info crammed into minimal space. This is how to read its graphics output: ... x11 server: X.Org 1.20.8 driver: amdgpu FAILED: ati unloaded: fbdev, modesetting, vesa resolution: 1920x1080~60Hz ... When amdgpu succeeds, ati shouldn't even be attempted AFAIK. Amdgpu is virtually always preferred wherever it is supported. Current inxi in TW is 3.1.00-1. -- Evolution as taught in public schools is religion, not science. Team OS/2 ** Reg. Linux User #211409 ** a11y rocks! That is really helpful feedback. Sounds very logical to me. Thank you!
