[opensuse-factory] ifolder server on 10.3

Will the ifolder server be available as a package in the 10.3 release or will it remain as an external package? -Ted Bullock --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Is there a voting for this enhancement somewhere? I would like to see iFolder in openSUSE too. -J --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

The iFolder client is free and could be packaged by someone. The server is a commercial product, so it does not apply to our "OSI licenses only" rule for opensuse.org. bye adrian -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE Linux Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nuernberg, Germany email: adrian@suse.de --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

It looks like there has already been some packaging done by the ifolder people for SLES and 10.1. http://forgeftp.novell.com/ifolder/server/3.5/current/linux/ http://www.ifolder.com/index.php/Download -Ted --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

What else is necessary to get the ifolder server package into the distribution for 10.3? At the moment I am rather oblivious to how this process works... I would guess that the following needs to happen: 1. Create a package (or use something from the ifolder team) 2. Check that it will fit on the media 3. Review it (approval?) -Ted Adrian Schröter wrote:

I wonder why it is not in the buildservice or in the distribution.. looks like there is a lack of coordination from time to tiem .. ;-) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

I created bug (232984) https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=232984 for inclusion of ifolder server in the 10.3 distribution. -Ted --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Older thread from January, but I just wanted to revive it. I haven't seen any action on packaging the ifolder server into the factory release yet. Although, RPMs are available in the BS for 10.2. It would be nice to get a response to this bug. Ted Bullock wrote:

From what I understand reading this http://www.ifolder.com/index.php/IFolder_Server:
"Novell is making available all of the iFolder 3 server components to the iFolder open source project - now all iFolder components will be available for anyone to use." If its not OSS, then perhaps it can go in non-OSS section. Only reason it is not widely used as samba is probably because it is not widely available. It is a great product and should be promoted.
