[opensuse-factory] Going underground, my packages are still maintained
Hi all, For quite sometime I've been erasing information about me in several resources, the request to terminate my membership has been heard and I'm no longer a member (a nice protest form against the anti-democratic ego driven concepts of a few). Pascal also kindly removed my blog feeds from the planet by my request. I've un-subscribed all mailing lists except: - opensuse-factory; - opensuse-gnome; All my packages/OBS repos are still going to be maintained, but a huge cleanup is going to happen soon (during the weekend). On the other hand, during the last weeks I've been aqquiring a lot of know-how on Fedora packaging and about Koji, which I now know very well. This to say that soon there will be an increase on contributions from me on Fedora side, mainly for EPEL (Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux), I do have no intention on maintaining Fedora packages besides EPEL. I will also keep some time for giving some love to GNOME:Cinnamon and will later pick up my work on GNOME:Ayatana. So in other words, my demise in openSUSE is 99% complete and people won't have to read/ignore more stupid emails from me, no more nagging, no more nothing. Hopefully I'll see better days in the future... And I get to be around with Sirko :) A very warm and felt 'Thank You' to all who have helped me, mainly to Vincent, Dominique, Marcus (darix), Bjorn, Stephen and many others... -- Nelson Marques // I've stopped trying to understand sandwiches with a third piece of bread in the middle... -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

It's a shame if openSUSE's Cinnamon efforts suffer as a result. I don't use Gnome/Cinnamon, but I consider your efforts there a strength for openSUSE. Oh well.. c'est la vie. So sorry to hear you've terminated your membership. I'm going to miss reading your blog. Just gimme a list of those people that made you leave. I'm glad to hear that you're staying on factory. I'm confused slightly because for a long time many of your ml posts have been pro fedora and anti suse. It's been quite shameful considering you have tried hard to claim the moral high ground. On the whole, this news is no revelation, can you not just bugger off without trying to be a drama queen? I don't think anyone can question your commitment to open source software, but I wish you would stop trying to jam your square head through the many round holes open projects have. Sincerely, A round head. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

On the contrary I feel it was entirely needed. His attempted vilification of openSUSE, it's process and members on the mailing lists have been un-checked and un-abated. It seems he's taken every oppertunity to bash openSUSE in some way while glorifiying another disto as his panacea. If he had been constructively critical it would be an entirely different thing, but I don't think he has. I think he has been negative to a fault and on many occassions I see his anti openSUSE rants as deliberate attempts to be devisive. I welcome open debate but It sickens me when people try to use these mailing lists as their personal soap box to air their grievances. Dear Mr. Graham, You are entitled to your opinion... but maybe you should focus on the bugzilla, patches, backports so that anti-openSUSE people like myself don't have to work on them... Even a KDE hatter like myself ends up pushing KDE updates to fix broken components (ex: oxygen-gtk) that the KDE fanboys like yourself fail to correct. So you should actually be pleased that you have a few updates available made by a anti-openSUSE user who uses Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and who is a Red Hat paying customer. Ain't it stupid that I pay Red Hat to have my system updated and in top shape... and that I spend my time updating a system that I don't use and that YOU use? Shouldn't be you to update your own system? It's actually your loss, not mine... squeel and wine as much as you want ;)

I'm sorry if it was hard to read. Sometimes email clients don't destinguish well well between the quoted email text and the new message text. I felt it appropriate to reply while including the whole of the previous two messages in the thread, for the benefit of anyone who might come across the message on a search engine. I wanted my statement to be absolutely clear as to which text it was referring too. Félicitations pour le rugby ce weekend, l'equipe Francaise continuer d'etre un peux plus fort que les Ecossaise. Oh gosh, oh gee. Look who's calling the kettle black! "It sickens me when people try to use these mailing lists as their personal soap box to air their grievances."
