Wrong. It is openSUSE which fails, not vmplayer. The kernel. Hibernation problems inside vmware or virtualbox have happened before and were reported against openSUSE, and they have been accepted previously. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. Vmplayer is supossed to be executed in a server, and in the servers never is enabled the hybernation! Is very stupid to run vmplayer with hybernation enabled on native system. You can see in other systems vmplayer has the same fail: http://superuser.com/questions/84271/how-to-recover-a-vmware-virtual-machine http://pubs.vmware.com/view-50/index.jsp?topic=/com.vmware.view.administrati... http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=2046009 http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1711 http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1000059 http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=688 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Wrong. vmplayer is forbidden in Professional use. It is only for non-commercial use. I use vmplayer as testing environment for openSUSE, and one of the tests is hibernation. It fails. vmplayer is just a "hardware", and opensuse fails one test in this specific hardware. Vmplayer has its own menu for suspending, and it works perfectly. However, openSUSE hibernation, which is different (and really not used in practice). I have several virtual machines, and do tests between them. When finished, I hibernate them, using vmplayer menu for suspending - not openSUSE own hibernation. Please stop this absurd complaining. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. Yes! This is a absurd complaining, because the same problem appear in other non Linux systems: http://superuser.com/questions/84271/how-to-recover-a-vmware-virtual-machine http://pubs.vmware.com/view-50/index.jsp?topic=/com.vmware.view.administrati... http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=2046009 http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1711 http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1000059 http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=688 You must file a bug in the vmware site! -- USA LINUX OPENSUSE QUE ES SOFTWARE LIBRE, NO NECESITAS PIRATEAR NADA Y NI TE VAS A PREOCUPAR MAS POR LOS VIRUS Y SPYWARES: http://www.opensuse.org/es/ Puedes visitar mi blog en: http://jerbes.blogspot.com.ar/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

No, as long as vmware is a valid hardware field in the openSUSE bugzilla. I looked. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. R. You must file a bug in the vmware site!
None of these issues have anything at all to do with Carlos' reported problem. These links are about hibernation of host system, or space used, or about problems with VMware suspend. Carlos reports a problem about openSUSE (Linux) hibernation within the VMware instance. It's quite obvious that you don't know anything at all about VMware Player (you think it's for servers) and what Carlos does. Please stop hindering Carlos' with his valuable testing work. Thanks! [blush] I know Juan, and he simply hates almost any thing commercial. As you say, this is not really about vmware, but about our distribution working inside vmware, which is a valid hardware target. It even has a dedicated entry in the bugzilla system. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R.
