New Slowroll base snapshot 20240429 released!
Dear fellow Geekos, today I released a new Slowroll base snapshot with an upgrade from 20240405 to 20240429. Due to some OBS hickup there were slightly inconsistent repos for some hours today. This should now all be sorted out. On the list of updates, I see among others: Qt 6.6.3 -> 6.7.0 KDE 6.0.0 -> 6.1.0 Mesa 24.0.3 -> 24.0.5 docker 25.0.3 -> 26.1.0 In other news: * OBS links to packages in openSUSE:Slowroll should now work better * I started to incorporate the new logo artwork into branding-openSUSE and it should show up in more places soon. I'll try to stick to monthly version bumps for a while, aiming for the 2nd week of a month, to make them more predictable. So expect the next one around 2024-06-09 (+-3d) We are slowly getting closer to where I want Slowroll to be. Ciao Bernhard M.

Any chance to produce Slowroll images with integrated Slowroll repositories? My understanding is that currently images in https://download.opensuse.org/slowroll/ are just copies of Tumbleweed images?

installation DVDs are still hard, because those are built by product-builder that does not work with the snapshotted repo, because it is pulled back into OBS via download-on-demand. Maybe I could create NET isos. Meanwhile, there are images for VMs and cloud at https://download.opensuse.org/update/slowroll/images/?P=*qcow2 These are built with a modern kiwi. But still have some issues (outdated kernel-obs-build version, cloud-init blocks local root login by default) Ciao Bernhard M.

I'm pretty sure when I did my prototype I used kiwi to create live images that could be installed from so that is possibly another option. -- Simon Lees (Simotek) http://simotek.net Emergency Update Team keybase.io/simotek SUSE Linux Adelaide Australia, UTC+10:30 GPG Fingerprint: 5B87 DB9D 88DC F606 E489 CEC5 0922 C246 02F0 014B

For the moment, you can 'convert' the isos to use the Slowroll repo: mksusecd --create slowroll.iso \ --net http://download.opensuse.org/slowroll/repo/oss \ openSUSE-Tumbleweed-NET-x86_64-Snapshot20240429-Media.iso Steffen

I now made a NET install iso that still has many issues, but at least it has the right URL preset. See https://trello.com/c/AqFIWnYM/1-install-cddvd Also did a fix to the VM image. It had broken repos. Ciao Bernhard M.
