What do you mean by nicer? This is only a note which commit this .changes entry corresponds in the kernel git tree to. regards, -- js suse labs -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Sure, but the changelog should contain information which helps the user to understand what or at least in which are something has changed. Git commit hashes are not that helpful. According to [0], the changelog should mention which patches have been added/changed/removed. Of course, adding (parts of) the upstream changelog may be helpful, but it is not visible in the above context. [0] https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Creating_a_changes_file_%28RPM%29 Well, just cosmetics, but such non-human readable entries lead to preventing other users from reading the output of "rpm -q --changelog $PKG" once again ... which is a pity IMO. Hm, why not checking against the rpm? LC_ALL=POSIX rpm -q --changelog kernel-default | \ grep -B 5 eea4145 * Mon Jul 20 2015 dmueller@suse.com - Update config files. Disable Xen on ARM64 default configs, should only be enabled on the pv flavor (which does not yet exist for ARM64) - commit eea4145

The package changelog has this details already. But the question is if we need them duplicated in the Tumbleweed snapshot announcements. Cheers, Lars -- Lars Müller [ˈlaː(r)z ˈmʏlɐ] Samba Team + SUSE Labs SUSE Linux, Maxfeldstraße 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany

ah, I read this as 2 different changes! There's no indentation amongst the changes and their "- commit ..." entries. Have a nice day, Berny -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

It's a SHA of the corresponding commit in our tree. It's not line with "yet another change". regards, -- js suse labs -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
