RPM 4.10 release: will it get to 12.2? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
Would be nice with the I/O improvements that it brings :)

It's probably a bit late for 12.2, considering that RC1 is the next milestone. Vincent -- Les gens heureux ne sont pas pressés. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Hello I Wonder if it could be delivered via an update [1] in the future ? Glenn [1] http://ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/update/12.2/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
I'm not sure if this kind of update is a good thing... And on the
other hand it might be a good thing to leave it for 12.3 or whatever
it's going to be... Some of the changes might bring conflicts and
decrease user experience depending on the packaging done... As some of
them can be used in the future to provide better packages.
For example 'allow obsoletes across colors'; if my knowledge is ok,
this should be related to elf binaries and suggests that 'color' is
pretty much the same as arch for most cases. So my understanding is
that you can obsolete other architecture packages (ex:
foobar-0-0.x86_64 can obsolete a foobar-0.0-i386).
This kind of changes (there's more) should not be rushed in, but
instead be introduced with enough time for people to take the best
advantage out of them (or maybe not).
Thats just my feeling... means pretty much nothing. There's other cool
topics worth looking for.

Can you please be this nice and spot the real user benefit to add this brand new release at this late point in time of the development of openSUSE 12.2? If you see real issues I'm sure Michael <mls> and Richi <rguenther> are happy to merge the required fixes to the currently used code.
