[opensuse-factory] GIMP splash screen not branded
The GIMP splash-screen in RC1 still uses branding from the 11.2 release, which does not fit in with the much brighter colours of the 11.3 environment. Is this known and slated to be fixed soon or do I file a bug? -- Atri -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Good catch. I don't think there's a bug opened about it, but I have no idea who would fix that now, since jimmac left Novell :/ Vincent -- Les gens heureux ne sont pas pressés. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Hi Vincent! The splash-screen itself is already done by jimmac. http://gitorious.org/opensuse/art/blobs/master/app-splashes/gimp/gimp-splash... It has not been pushed out to factory that's all. So I guess, it is just a matter of replacing this file "gimp-branding-openSUSE-splash.png" in the gimp-branding-openSUSE package with the png image from the above link and updating the change-logs accordingly? If so, I can have the project checked out and I can do this. But I don't know if it is this easy! I guess that was it. I branched the project out from openSUSE:Factory [actually led to a branch from GNOME:Apps], changed the splash image "gimp-branding-openSUSE-splash.png" with the one from the above link, and built packages with the new splash-screens for factory and 11.2 over at http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/badshah400:/branches:/GNOME:... Installed in 11.2 and on 11.3_RC1 and it now shows the 11.3 branded splash-screen while starting up. It's definitely easy: just branch gimp-branding-openSUSE from GNOME:Apps, update gimp-branding-openSUSE-splash.png, edit gimp-branding.changes, run pre_checkin.sh, commit, and submit :-) Thanks! Thanks for the suggestions. However, I did most of the things already before reading ur suggestions and the only thing I did differently was to update the gimp-branding-openSUSE.changes file instead of gimp-branding.changes ans skip doing the bash-script part. This should be okay [since the changes don't affect the SLED anyway], or should I do it the bash-script way? -- Atri -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
