[opensuse-factory] SuperTuxKart disappeared?
Hi, I've seen that supertuxkart disappeared from The factory repositories? What happened? I thought it was there to replace the old 'tuxkart' (which is also not part of factory anymore). In plus, in games:arcade, there is SuperTuxKart 0.2.99 (ok: it is 0.3.0rc1) available.. 0.3.0 is scheduled for a release in a few weeks and I hope we can have it in the distro afterwards. From our Log: - tuxkart: superseded by supertuxkart - supertuxkart: Maintained in BuildService - project games:arcade

I don't think that *tuxkart will come back to the official repository soon. Perhaps you should talk to the maintainer of that buildservice-package: Pavol Rusnak. Perhaps it's also time for the "games"-Project to think about an add on media for openSUSE... We plan to add a few-click (TM) addition of other repositories during installation, which shall also include interesting repositories from BuildService. This way you get the games without having to download whole media. -- Regards, Jiri Srain YaST Team Leader --------------------------------------------------------------------- SUSE LINUX, s.r.o. e-mail: jsrain@suse.cz Lihovarska 1060/12 tel: +420 284 028 959 190 00 Praha 9 fax: +420 284 028 951 Czech Republic http://www.suse.cz

We were reorganizing games:* projects structure in BuildService and dropped some packages from distro as it is sufficient to maintain them in BuildService only. -- Best Regards / S pozdravom, Pavol RUSNAK SUSE LINUX, s.r.o Package Maintainer Lihovarska 1060/12 PGP 0xA6917144 19000 Praha 9, CR prusnak[at]suse.cz http://www.suse.cz --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Hopefully this won't end up in dropping the game libs like SDL, clanlib, plib, ... as well. I'm afraid this would result in any game developer switching to another Linux distribution.
