[opensuse-factory] adwaita appears to be missing in appearance in mate desktop
Hi all, I thought I'd take a look at the mate desktop. When I open preferences-->appearance it shows that adwaita is missing - even though adwaita for gtk2 is installed. Any else experiencing this? -- Cheers! Yep and it's normal. Adwaita is not a complete theme, that's why it appears to be broken. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Yep and it's normal. Adwaita is not a complete theme, that's why it appears to be broken. Too bad. It worked in our earlier versions of openSUSE GNOME. Not sure if it was in the 12.x series. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Hi. I think it is a MATE issue, it works fine on LXDE. Btw, AFAIK Adwaita is a complete theme and it has been working perfectly fine since I started using it. I'm sure the maintainer will fix the bug. Over the weekend, I installed openSUSE 11.4 with GNOME 2.42x and it looks really nice and solid!! No crashes. The sonar theme makes it look like it was released recently. I hope the mate developers are looking at it closely. It's an icon theme, not a complete theme. Just go to advanced settings to set Adwaita as the icon theme. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Hi. No, it isn't just an icon theme, it is a complete theme. Icons are in /usr/ share/icons/Adwaita and the GTK theme (for GTK+ 2 and GTK+ 3) is in /usr/ share/themes/Adwaita. So, maybe a missing package then ? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Well enlightenment in tumbleweed still detects it as a gtk2/gtk3 theme, hexchat and lxappearance both also work fine with it so its likely a mate bug, as a side note you might be able to get away with installing lxappearance and using that to install it. cheers -- Simon Lees (Simotek) http://simotek.net Emergency Update Team keybase.io/simotek SUSE Linux Adeliade Australia, UTC+9:30 GPG Fingerprint: 5B87 DB9D 88DC F606 E489 CEC5 0922 C246 02F0 014B

Adwaita no longer have the metacity code that mate relies on. https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-themes-standard/commit/?id=53ee6e886 c64fb704030a743dc920d0f02771571 //Bjørn -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
