[opensuse-factory] openSUSE:Leap:15.2 - Build fail notification
Dear Package maintainers and hackers. Below package(s) in openSUSE:Leap:15.2 have been failing to build for at least 4 weeks. We tried to send out notifications to the configured bugowner/maintainers of the package(s), but so far no fix has been submitted. This probably means that the maintainer/bugowner did not yet find the time to look into the matter and he/she would certainly appreciate help to get this sorted. - perl Unless somebody is stepping up and submitting fixes, the listed package(s) are going to be removed from openSUSE:Leap:15.2. It is already a known problem: https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1160039 And the fix will come at some point! Guillaume

I do not appreciate this reaction. At all. It is not funny, not even if you happen to be a python lover. It is like yelling let us remove emacs/vim, or KDE/Gnome/XFCE, just because you happen to like/love the alternative(s). There are *HUGE* user counts for perl (and python/ruby/php/go/...) as there are for MariaDB (and PostgreSQL/MySQL/SQLite/Firebird/CSV/...). Making jokes about "just removing" any of those is bad habit IMHO. The smiley is not an excuse. Better, lets find out why and who could help to get it going again. I do not have 15.2 installed anywhere yet, but I'm willing to help. -- H.Merijn Brand http://tux.nl Perl Monger http://amsterdam.pm.org/ using perl5.00307 .. 5.31 porting perl5 on HP-UX, AIX, and Linux https://useplaintext.email https://tux.nl http://www.test-smoke.org http://qa.perl.org http://www.goldmark.org/jeff/stupid-disclaimers/

Sorry if felt that it is not funny. No harm intended. In my day-job one could call myself a "Perl developer" so don't worry, I will not work to remove perl.

Come on, that's a joke of course. We wouldn't see *anything* *SUSE* without perl. Even central parts of the build service are implemented in perl. Cheers, Pete -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
