[opensuse-factory] 42.2 Beta 2 bug assigned to Novell ?

I filed a bug report: 1001276. It was assigned to bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com It is possible that openSUSE 42.2 bug management is more subtle than I imagined, but I had understood that Novell was no longer the owner of Suse and no longer had any responsibility for Suse. I assume that since Novell is in no way responsible, they will do nothing about 1001276. I don't know the details, but that is still the default assignee of bugs. The bugs do get screened and assigned to specific people, so don't worry about it. If you can determine who the bug owner is yourself, you can speed the process along by setting that value yourself. If you know source package name (usually it's the same as binary package name, otherwise "rpm -qi <pkgname>" shows it as "Source RPM"), you can use osc bugowner -e <pkgname> to find package bugowner. If you do not have osc installed or set up, OBS web interface can be used but that's less comfortable. The above is normal.
but I had understood that Novell was no longer the owner of Suse and no longer had any responsibility for Suse.
Novell and SUSE both belong to Microfocus, to my knowledge all SUSE infrastructure is supported by Novell, as is much of the openSUSE ditto.
I assume that since Novell is in no way responsible, they will do nothing about 1001276.
It's a screening, the triage team will take care of it. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (15.5°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - free dynamic DNS, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

It is not "assigned to Novell" (whatever that means..) but assigned to a mailing list that happens to have been created back in the old days of novell forge, Its name has not been updated so far probably because it is still working. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
